SWABI: Unidentified assailants shot dead a prominent entrepreneur of the district and his maternal uncle when they were travelling in a car here in Maneri Payyan on Saturday.

When they reached near the local school the alleged killers suddenly appeared and shot them dead with Kalashnikovs. Soon after the incident, police reached there and collected evidence from the crime scene.

The deceased were identified as Kamran Khan and his maternal uncle Fahim Dil Khan.

The cause of the incident was not known and their families said they had no enmity with anyone. An FIR has been registered against unidentified killers in the city police station.

Meanwhile, Anjuman-i-Tajiran leaders asked the police to immediately trace and arrest the killers.

Also in the day, body of an unidentified person was found near Gajju Khan’s mausoleum in Shahmansoor. The body has been placed in the local BHU for identification.

Besides, the Kalu Khan police arrested two persons for firing in the air on Saturday.

The two were identified as Imad and Mehran. The police also allegedly recovered two Kalashnikovs, pistols and a rifle from them and have registered a case against them.

BARBERS SUFFER: The prolonged lockdown enforced to contain the spread of coronavirus has badly hit barbers who have no other source of earning to meet the needs of their families.

In a chat with this scribe on Saturday, they said they would have to pay the rent of their shops and fulfil the needs of their families, but they were facing increasing financial crunch as they had been confined to their houses.

Mohammad Asim, who owns a barbershop in Topi, said the lockdown was announced on March 26 and still there was no indication the markets would reopen anytime soon.
