KASUR: Chunian police said on Thursday they arrested the rapist and killer of a six-year-old girl, and he turned out to be the father of the deceased.

On Tuesday, the police found the body of the girl in fields at village Herchowki. The police said the initial medical report confirmed that the minor girl was raped before being killed.

The suspect, a father of four, is an addict.

As per police, he has confessed to raping her on Tuesday in fields and later strangling her.

According to his wife, complainant of the case, the man called her on Wednesday and told that the body of the girl was lying in the fields near a dairy farm.

The police shifted the body to the Chunian Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy where the lady doctor confirmed rape with the victim.

The police arrested the father in the adjacent village, who said he committed crime under influence. The police sent the samples of both the suspect and the deceased for DNA profiling.

RAPED: A man allegedly raped a woman on Thursday at Kanganpur village.

The police entered a case against a nominated suspect who allegedly raped the woman when she was alone at her house. The suspect fled.

SHOT DEAD: A man, of Labhana Chak 37, was shot at and killed on Thursday for love marriage.

Shaukat Ali contracted love marriage in 2017 with the sister of suspect Ghous and started living in Lahore. On Thursday, Ghous intercepted Ali when he came to the village to see his parents. Ghous along with his accomplices shot at and killed Ali and escaped. The police registered a case.

Separately, brothers Ashfaq and Allah Ditta attacked their brother-in-law Zahoor Ahmed when he came to take his estranged wife at village Gandi Roop Singh in the limits of Kanganpur police station.

While Ahmed ran to save his life, he was run over by a tractor-trolley and died instantly. The police are looking into the matter.
