SARGODHA: The anti-corruption establishment (ACE) on Wednesday unearthed an alleged embezzlement of 1,557 bags of wheat worth Rs4 million at the Sobhaga centre and registered a case against food inspector Agha Abbas.
Reports said ACE regional director Babar Rehman received information that wheat bags were removed from the centre. Circle officer Muhammad Akram raided the centre, some 40-km from here, and found as many as 1,557 bags ‘missing’.
He took the record into custody. The respective food inspector was absent. A case was registered against the in-charge concerned.
Further investigation is under way.
