QUETTA: First two patients of coronavirus in Balochistan have been discharged from Sheikh Zayed Hospital after their full recovery as no new case of Covid-19 was reported in the province for the last two days.

Balochistan government’s spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani said here on Friday that both infected patients were admitted to the hospital last week, adding after they tested negative for the virus doctors allowed them to go home.

According to officials in the hospital, the recovered persons are a 45-year-old man and a teenage girl. They both had travelled to Iran for pilgrimage and returned to Pakistan via Taftan border. During quarantine in Quetta, they tested positive for Covid-19 and were admitted to the hospital.

“They were admitted to the hospital for treatment and today (Friday) we have allowed them to go home as they have fully recovered,” a senior doctor of Sheikh Zayed Hospital told Dawn.

Hospital sources said that over 100 patients have been admitted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital and the condition of majority of them is stable. They said more patients would soon be able to go home after full recovery.

Meanwhile, the health authorities in the province said that no new case of coronavirus was reported in Quetta and any other part of Balochistan for the last two days.
