ISLAMABAD: A man allegedly murdered his nephew in the Koral locality of the capital on Friday.

The victim was identified as Gul Ahmed. Police said two brothers hailing from Bajaur lived in the rural area of the capital along with their families.

One of the brothers wanted Mr Ahmed, his nephew, to marry his daughter. However, he turned down the proposal.

This annoyed the man who allegedly shot Mr Ahmed. The injured was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased’s father, Hassan Shah, got a case registered in the Koral police station against his brother who escaped after the incident.

Meanwhile, a man was killed in a road accident on Friday. Police said Mohammad Abbas was travelling on a motorcycle when he was hit by a car at Zero Point. The injured later died in a hospital.

Three armed men raided a shop at G-11 Markaz and looted Rs350,000.

In another incident, burglars broke into a grocery shop in Doray village and stole edibles worth Rs300,000.

A gang of swindlers deprived a woman of gold ornaments and cash.

Mohammad Walid told the police that when his mother arrived in the capital from Nowshera some people riding a car offered her a lift at Chungi No 26.

After driving the car for a few minutes, they stopped and snatched the ornaments along with Rs3,500 from her. The car riders forced the woman out of the vehicle and drove off.
