PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth on Tuesday inaugurated a research centre on the PHC premises.

On the occasion, he stated that research was a prerequisite to image-building and advancement of an institution, according to a press release.

Besides studying and analysing case laws of national jurisdiction, the research centre will also prepare updates on case law from foreign/international jurisdictions.

The IT wing of the high court in coordination with the centre will work for developing, maintaining and improving the database regularly.

At present the centre comprises a senior research and reference officer (senior civil judge), a research and reference officer (civil judge) and four judicial assistants.

In future a district and sessions judge will head the centre. He/she will also be assisted in the performance of their duties by an additional district and sessions judge, a senior civil judge, a civil judge, and judicial assistants.

Apart from this, the officers of the PHC establishment will also serve in the centre as director research, senior research and reference officer and research and reference officer.
