LAHORE: The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (PSHD) on Saturday released the latest statistics about the suspected cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in different hospitals of Punjab.

The PSHD spokesman said there was no confirmed case of coronavirus in Punjab while three suspected patients had been admitted to isolation wards of the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, District Headquarter Hospital, Bhakkar, and CMH, Lahore.

In a handout, he said 61 cases of suspected COVID-19 were reported across Punjab and 58 patients had been discharged. He said 10 patients were immediately discharged while 48 coronavirus suspects were discharged after receiving test reports that were negative. The results of remaining samples of five admitted patients were yet to be declared.

The spokesman said symptoms of the coronavirus had not yet been found in any patient across the province. He said coronavirus wards had been established at the DHQ level in Punjab and they were fully functional to provide the best medical facilities. As many as 3,964 passengers had been screened by the health department who had recently arrived from abroad in the last 15 days, he added.

Meanwhile, the city administration and the Lahore Metropolitan Corporation on Saturday joined hands and launched an anti-coronavirus drive in the provincial metropolis, starting it with washing of the Town Hall.
