LAHORE: An unidentified woman was shot dead in the crowded market of Shadbagh on Friday.

Eyewitnesses said the woman was going to a shop when two unidentified armed men appeared on a motorcycle and opened fire on her. She received a bullet in her head and died on the spot while the suspects fled.

The police reached the site and shifted the body of the woman to the morgue for autopsy.

The police official said they made announcement on the local mosques in a bid to reach the deceased’s family but in vain.
