KU wins HEC Inter-varsity cricket tournament

KARACHI: Karachi University women’s cricket team bagged first position while Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Dewan University won the runners-up position in the recently concluded HEC Inter-varsity Women’s Cricket Tournament 2020 which was organized by Institute of Business Administration.

The closing ceremony of the tournament was held at the IBA Karachi. Danish Ali, the IBA Sports Society Patron and Program Director, was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the shields among the winning teams along with guests of honour Gohar Raza Zaidi who is IBA Manager Sports, and Hadia Rehman, Sports Coordinator and Organizing Secretary.

Also present were Mukhtara Bhatti, Director Sports of Universty of Sindh Jamsoro and Danish Farooqui, Nuzhat, Kausar, Rifat from University of Karachi.

Hafsa Khalid was named Player of the Tournament for her fine all-round show. She scored 155 runs and captured 5 wickets. Best batswoman award also went to Hafsa while Bisma Amjad was named best bowler for her 12 wickets.
