ISLAMABAD: A man was found murdered at his residence in a rural area of the capital, police said on Friday.

The victim was identified as Khurshid, a white-washer by profession, they stated, adding that he was living in a rented room in Habibullah Town.

The victim’s father, Noor Mohammad, had been trying to get in touch with him for the last two weeks, the police said, adding that the victim’s father then came to Islamabad to check on his son and found his house locked from outside.

Mr Mohammad along with some of the victim’s neighbours broke the lock and found Khurshid’s body inside.

The victim’s roommate was found missing.

Police were informed and the body was shifted to the hospital for legal proceeding. Marks of injury were found on the head of the victim during autopsy.

Police have registered a murder case against the victim’s roommate and started investigation.
