DADU, Aug 21: Former District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar, former nazim of the Thano Bula Khan taluka, an ADP candidate for UC Sari and 20 other PPP leaders were booked in a robbery case on Saturday night.

The general secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League, UC Sari, Amir Hyder Palari, had lodged a complaint with Thano Bula Khan police that the former nazim and his 22 supporters had attacked with automatic weapons the election office of the PML in UC Sari.

He alleged that the assailants had robbed Rs20,000, one mobile phone set and ransacked office furniture and issued threats of dire consequences.

He said the assailants were pressing PML candidates to withdraw in favour of ADP candidates.

Police registered FIR under section 147, 149, 114, 504, 427, 506/2, 173 HO, 395, 337A(1) and 337F(1) QDO.

Those others nominated include ADP candidate for nazim UC Sari, Duro Palari, local PPP leaders Suleman Palari, Dodo Palari, Dr Deewan Naromal, Misri Khaskheli, Mohabbat Ali Khaskheli, Dhaloo, Deewan Dewamal, Mukhi Khaimchand, Ghulam Mustafa Khaskheli and Ghulam Mustafa Hamlani.

Mr Malik told Dawn that police registered a false FIR against him, ADP candidates and supporters.

He appealed to the chief election commissioner to take notice of police action and provide them justice.

The president of the PML Jamshoro district, Malik Changez Khan, said that Malik Asad Sikandar and his supporters were issuing threats to PML candidates to withdraw in favour of ADP candidates.
