Seasons change. We notice it when the scorching sun sizzles the day, when leaves fall, when it’s cold and we wear warm clothes or when we see colours all around us in form of flowers and fresh green leaves.

Have you ever noticed what happens to the little creatures around you during a new season? How they live or what they do when seasons change? If not, then http://www.journeynorth.org tells you about insects, birds and animals’ migration and all their activities.

Journey North tracks migrations and seasons, and you can explore all the content from the home screen with section devoted to a diverse selection of animals and birds, including whales, hummingbirds, bald eagle, earthworms, frogs, etc. Within each topic you will find information about the animal and their migration habits, along with links to additional resources.

There are some unusual and quite interesting topics such as “Ice-Out”, an event known as the welcome sign of spring, which tells about the time when the ice cover melts from lakes, rivers, ponds and oceans. In “Sunlight and Seasons”, you are asked to record data, take photos and make drawings and share it on the site. Whereas, “Leaf-Out” discusses some questions like what happens if leaves come out too early? How do leaves fit into the food chain, etc?

“Mystery Class” — will polish your investigative skills if you participate in a global game of hide-and-seek. In this section, kids are asked to follow photoperiod clues to search for ten secret sites around the world; track seasonal changes in sunlight, solve a mystery and discover the reasons for seasons along the way. You can even take your journey a step further and choose the live cam link to view webcams and animal videos from around the world. The website is a citizen science programme of North America, everyone from around the world can share things.
