PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have proposed to the provincial government to either create 200 posts of assistant sub-inspectors to accommodate heirs of the martyred police officials or adjust those positions against which recruitments were directly made by the KP Public Service Commission.
A statement issued here said that the KP police had submitted a summary to this effect to the provincial government to address the issue as the families of martyred cops had not only approached courts for induction of their children as ASIs, but also agitated the issue in public.
It said that in 2015 the provincial government had approved creation of 300 posts of ASIs to accommodate heirs of the martyred cops.
However, the number of the heirs had again touched 198 and there was no seat available to accommodate them.
The statement said that the police department had proposed the government to create 200 posts to accommodate these people or hire them on those posts against which recruitment was directly made by the Public Service Commission.
