PN ships visit Seychelles port

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy’s ships Moawin and Aslat visited Port Victoria, Seychelles, as part of its overseas deployment around the African region.

During the visit, mission commander and commanding officers of the ships called on important authorities of Sey­chelles, visited Foyer De Nazareth Orphanage, Victoria, besides holding various social and professional engagements in the host country, according to a press release.

Upon arrival at Port Victoria, the PN ships were extended a warm welcome by Seychelles’ authorities. The mission commander, along with commanding officers of the ships, called on the vice president of the Republic of Seychelles, chief of Seychelles Defence Forces and other prominent authorities.

During interactions, the mission commander conveyed sincere regards of Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi for the people of Seychelles in ­general and Seychelles Coast Guard in particular.

As a gesture of goodwill, the mission commander and commanding officers of the ships visited Foyer De Nazareth Orphanage, Victoria, and distributed gifts among children at the facility.

The ongoing deployment of Pakistan Navy ships to Africa is aimed at further strengthening friendly ties with African countries, extending humanitarian assistance and developing interoperability with host navies.
