SHANGLA: Over 10,000 candidates, who had applied for the 179 vacant posts of Class-IV in the health department some six months ago, have yet to get any intimation on their applications.

The applicants said they had applied for the Class-IV positions vacant in different health facilities across the district advertised by the health department some six months ago, but there was no development afterwards, thus causing worries to them.

When contacted, district health officer Dr Mohammad Riaz Khan Matta told Dawn that filling such positions fell in the domain of local MPAs.

He said Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had also issued a directive to fill the low class positions before February.

ELECTROCUTED: A man was electrocuted at Martung Koz Kalay on Saturday.

Locals said Ahmed Saad was fixing a fault at his house when he touched a live wire.

They said that he was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
