Karachi woes

Published January 15, 2020

KARACHI has once again been named among the least liveable cities in the world. The recent Global Liveability Index 2019 has ranked Karachi at fifth place.

Apparently, Economist Intelligence Unit evaluates cities on certain bases like stability, healthcare, culture, environment, education and infrastructure. Considering the EIU report, it seems that the federal and provincial governments have both neglected Karachi, which is an asset for Pakistan.

Although Karachi, the biggest city of Pakistan, pays high taxes — direct or indirect — it is still neglected. For how long will our authorities sleep over the issues Karachi faces?
