RAWALPINDI: A teenage minor was allegedly sexually assaulted by two people and is being blackmailed by his attackers.

Police said that a Kahuta resident reported to the police that his 16-year-old nephew was detained in a closed shop by two individuals who sexually assaulted him.

He said they also filmed the boy and threatened to share footage of him on social media he did not turn up when they called him. The two suspects left him near a mosque, which was where the complainant found him.

The police have registered a case and begun investigating.

Separately, the police in Rawalpindi have begun delivering Islamic lectures in mosques during Friday prayers.

A police spokesperson said that these lectures aim to teach people about brotherhood and the importance of behaving politely, as well as about Islam.

The police officials said that Muslim brotherhood was necessary for a strong Muslim community, and that according to religious teachings everyone should behave well with their relatives and protect their rights.
