DADU: A local onion trader was killed and three passersby were injured in an armed attack by unknown persons at Channo Shahabad Mohalla of Dadu city.

A group of armed persons shot dead trader Ali Asghar Mahesar.

Three others, who also came in the line of fire, were identified as five-year-old Heer Bano Babar, Rameez Khaskheli and Niaz Chandio.

Talking to Dawn, Dadu Civil Hospital’s civil surgeon Dr Abdul Hameed Meerani said that all the injured were in serious condition.

The minor girl was sent to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) hospital Jamshoro while two other injured were referred to a Shaheed Benazirabad hospital.

Carrying the body of Ali Asghar Mahesar, his relatives blocked the Dadu-Sehwan Indus Highway at Khudabad town to demand arrest of the armed persons involved in the murder.

City DSP Rasool Bux Siyal said that some 13 months ago, a clash had broken out between the Mahesar and Jatoi tribes in which one Jatoi was killed and on Tuesday, Mahesar was shot dead in revenge.
