KARACHI: Neighbourhood Club and Omega Basketball Club have qualified for the final after comprehensively beating their respective opponents in the semi-finals of the fourth Essa Lab Basketball tournament, being organised by the Karachi Basketball Association in collaboration with Essa Lab, here at Abdul Nasir Court in Arambagh on Monday night.

In the first semi-final, defending champions Neighbourhood Club beat Nishter Club 54-25 in a one-sided contest. Sami Gilani was the top scorer for the winners with as many as (24 points). He was well assisted by teammates Abdullah Shah (16 points) and Hamad N D Khan (10 points).

For the losing side, Talha Amjad and Haroon Khan scored (10 points) each.

In the second semi-final, Omega Basketball Club comprehensively beat Karachi Basketball Club 65-43 in another lop-sided contest.

For the victorious side, Abbas Abid Qaim Khan (24 points) and Usman Khalid (22 points) were on the rampage while Taimur Zaheer contributed valuable (14 points).

For the losing side, Daniyal Ahmed scored (17 points) while Zainul Abedeen and Abdullah Imam scored (12 points) and (11 points) respectively.

The final will be played on Thursday at 8:00pm at the same venue.
