Filming begins on Roald Dahl biopic

Recently, filming on an untitled Roald Dahl biopic began in Surrey, England. The cast for the movie includes Hugh Bonneville and Keeley Hawes.

Bonneville is playing the beloved children’s book author and Hawes plays his film star wife, Patricia Neal.

“Roald Dahl and Patricia Neal seemingly had it all until an unimaginable event threatened to tear their family apart. I am so pleased we have attracted two award-winning talents in Hugh and Keeley to play these iconic roles,” said John Hay, co-writer and director to the movie in a press release.

No release date has been announced yet. Dahl died in 1990 at age 74. His books are numerous. Some of which include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The Witches, Fantastic Mr Fox and The BFG.


DC’s Black Adam to release in 2021

Dwayne Johnson announced on Instagram that his DC Comics film Black Adam will arrive in theatres on December 22, 2021.

Johnson described why he fell in love with the anti-hero and kind of villain concept behind Black Adam.

“This role is unlike any other I’ve ever played in my career and I’m grateful to the bone we’ll all go on this journey together,” the actor said after stating that his interest in Black Adam stems from how the character can go up against Superman but that he does things his way.

Black Adam was created in 1945 as the nemesis of Captain Marvel, now known as Shazam. He gains the powers of Egyptian gods when he shouts the magical word ‘Shazam!’ and is the leader of fictional country Kahndaq.


SpongeBob SquarePants loses Gary in new trailer

Nickelodeon and Paramount’s upcoming CGI film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run has released its new trailer in which we see SpongeBob SquarePants is searching for his missing pet snail named Gary.

The clip features SpongeBob (Tom Kenny) discovering that Gary has been kidnapped, leading to him embarking on an epic journey with his best friend Patrick Star (Bill Fagerbakke). SpongeBob and Patrick find themselves at the bustling, lost Atlantic City which is filled with tasty treats and theme park rides. The trailer also features the duo encountering a sage piece of sagebrush portrayed by Keanu Reeves and the origin story behind how Gary became SpongeBob’s pet.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, from writer and director Tim Hill, is set to arrive in theatres on May 22.
