KARACHI: Talented player Nadir Mirza and Kashan Tariq overcame their rivals in the boys singles while Varsha Das and Zainab Ali beat their opponents in the girls singles first round on the opening day of the RCK Sports ATF Under-14 Tennis Championship here at the DA Creek Club on Monday.

Rotary Club Karachi Sports & Shamsi Tennis Academy are organizing this week long prestigious championship under the auspices of Pakistan Tennis Federation and Sindh Tennis Association.

Boys U-14 Singles (first round): Nadir Mirza beat Rahim Veqar 6-2, 6-2; Kashan Tariq beat Ibrahim Sajjad 6-1, 7-6

Girls U-14 Singles (first round): Versha Das beat Varisha Khan 7-6, 6-4; Zainab Ali beat Natalia Zaman 7-6, 6-7, 6-1

Boys Under-13 Singles (first round): Zain Ehtisham beat Abdullah Aftab 4-0, 4-0; Samer Zaman beat Daniyal Kothawala 4-2, 4-1

Ibrahim Sajjad beat Dhuraf Das 4-2, 1-4, 4-1; Abdullah Imran Lohya beat Rayan Khan 5-3, 5-4

Boys U-11 Singles (first round): Aryan Mir beat Eshal Zain 4-0, 4-0; Samer Zaman beat Hamza Tahir 4-0, 4-0; Dhuraf Das beat Daliah Asim 4-1, 5-3.
