LAHORE, Aug 9: A fine contribution of 28 points from Aamir Iqbal helped Wapda won the All Pakistan Don Bosco Jashan-e-Azadi basketball tournament beating Army in the final 80-63 here on Tuesday.

Wapda led the first half 45-35 points. Besides Aamir, the other main scorers for the winning side were Sheraz Ali (20) and Akhtar (15).

For the losers, Javed contributed 25 points followed by Saeed Anwar, who made 13 points.

Punjab Sports Board Director General Munawar Abbas announced a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for the winners.

Meanwhile, Punjab Sports Board will award a cash prize of Rs 3,000 to each member of the volleyball, football and basketball teams for winning the Inter-provincial U-17 competitions this year.
