MANSEHRA: The tehsil municipal administration on Thursday began clearing choked nullahs and sewage pipes in the city and its suburbs.

TMA inspector (encroachments) Mohammad Iqbal told reporters that choked nullahs and sewers inundated roads and streets during rains, so a mega operation had been launched to clear them.

He said excavators, shovel machines and tractors were used to remove encroachments and clear sewers.

RESHUFFLE: The district administration on Thursday ordered the posting and transfer of 41 patwaris (revenue collectors).

Deputy commissioner Aurangzeb Haider Khan ordered the transfer and posting of 24 patwaris, whose tenure in patwar circles has passed three years, while settlement officerAzazullah Khan ordered the posting of 17 patwaris stationed in patwar circles in Mansehra tehsil.

A total of 24 patwaris were reshuffled in Balakot and Oghi Tehsils of district.

Also in the day, additional assistant commissioner Sundus Arshad paid a surprise visit to liquefied petroleum gas outlets to check illegal cylinder filling.

She warned that strict action would be taken if anyone was found filling one LPG cylinder from another.
