MIANWALI: The Mianwali University is going to be functional from November. The students anxiously waiting for the opening of the university to be the part of its inaugural session can apply for admission.

A couple of months ago, the Punjab government announced the establishment of the Mianwali University in the district on the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan to fulfill a long-standing public demand. Its opening was delayed due to delay in the appointment of the vice-chancellor. Now, Vice-Chancellor Dr Shabar Attiqe has taken the charge and announced the schedule for admissions to postgraduate classes for the session of 2019 . The student can submit their admission forms till Nov 12.

A campus of the University of Sargodha, set up in the Government Degree College, Mianwali, for last three years, has been closed down and replaced with the Mianwali University.

People demanded that the Punjab government establish an independent campus out of the city as the degree college must be kept an independent institution.
