KOHAT: Unidentified attackers killed two shepherds near the Nusrat Khel stream here, police said.

Hayat Mohammad, father of 18-year-old Musadiq Hayat, told police that his son along with Dil Badshah, 50, was grazing goats in fields when two armed men came out from the nearby guava orchards and started firing at them with pistols which caused their immediate death. The accused fled the scene.

The bodies were shifted to the KDA teaching hospital, where after autopsy they were handed over to relatives.

The complainant said the deceased had no enmity with anyone and it seemed they were killed because they had entered the fields of guava orchard owners.

The police filed a case against the unknown killers.

STRIKE CALL GETS COLD RESPONSE: The shutter down call given by the Kohat’s central traders’ body has got cold response as the property dealers, bakers, nan bais, mobile phones, milk and yogurt sellers, hotels association, butchers, grocery market traders and flour dealers refused to participate in it on Monday.

The Mushtarika markets association had given call of the strike.

The association’s office-bearers visited various markets on Monday and tried to convince the traders’ representatives to participate in the strike, but they did not get a positive response.

The Zargran bazaar associations have also declared boycott of the Oct 29 and 30 strike call.

The association’s president Mohammad Shahid and general secretary Mubeen Awan said they would side with the PTI government after holding deliberations with MPA and adviser to the chief minister on education, Ziaullah Bangash.

URS CELEBRATIONS CONCLUDE: The three-day celebrations of the 72nd death anniversary of Sufi saint at Ghamkol Sharif concluded on Monday.

Thousands of followers from across the country participated in the Urs celebrations. State minister for Safron Sheheryar Afridi also attended the occasion.

Special security measures were made for the Urs and the police and army personnel continuously patrolled the shrine limits.

Special prayers were offered for the excellence of Islam and independence of Kashmir. Free meal was distributed among the people for three days.
