KARACHI: The Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) will organise first B-5 Training and Coaching Workshop from Nov 2 here in Karachi.

Sports teachers of universities, colleges and schools will be trained for Baseball 5 sports.

According to the organisers, the aim of the workshop is to strengthen Baseball-5 infrastructure in the country and promote the game at educational institutions and at district level so that talented youngsters can be encouraged to play the sport.

It is pertinent to mention that Baseball-5 is an amalgamation of baseball and softball. This game doesn’t have the requirement of a big ground nor the equipments used in softball and baseball.

The Baseball-5 game only needs a ball and can be played anywhere and therefore this form of baseball and softball is rapidly gaining in popularity among the youth.

World Baseball Softball Federation (WBSF) Secretary General Dato Beng Choo Low has given special task to SFP Secretary Asif Azeem to promote this sport effectively in Pakistan. SFP has appointed Murad Hussain and Shiraz Asif as Director and Coordinator of the B-5 Training and Coaching Workshop respectively. The duo had attended WBSC B-5 Seminar held in Malaysia earlier this year.

Interested candidates have been requested to contact Shiraz Asif at 0312-2721024 or email their entry at shiraz.asif02@gmail.com to register themselves for the B-5 Training and Coaching Workshop.
