KHAR: Unidentified persons kidnapped a youth here on Friday, officials said. They said Shakirullah, 24, a resident of Mandal area of Salarzai tehsil, was on his way home when unknown persons kidnapped him near a bus terminal in Shandi locality on Thursday.

Soon after the incident, an official said that Levies personnel reached the area and started search operation to trace the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party workers on Friday held a protest demonstration against the murder of Mian Gul Jan, a senior party activist, who was killed by unknown persons on Wednesday.

Scores of party workers and leaders participated in the rally held outside the Bajaur Press Club.

The protesters chanted slogans against the district administration and Levies force for their failure to arrest the killers. They said that the victim was a committed activist who had no personal dispute with anyone in the area.
