KARACHI: Two debutants are among 39 horses who will compete for honours barring last-minute withdrawal(s) when the Gymkhana race meeting takes place here at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

Unknown pedigree horse Zorawar, who belonged to stables of a local owner, will make his maiden appearance in the opening race while Lahore Sayeen, another unknown pedigree horse, has come from Lahore and will have the first feel of the track in the second race.

The first and second race have 10 acceptors apiece and will go over four furlongs.

Meanwhile, seven horses have entered the fray in The New Look Cup which is a supporting event and is classified under scale order IV and V. It is the fourth race in the racing order and goes over four-and-a-half furlongs.

Half-a-dozen horses will face the starter in the fifth and last race, combined top scale order I, II, III and IV to be run over four-and-a-half furlongs.

The third race also has similar number of six horses.

The first race starts at 3:00pm.
