CALGARY (Alberta), Aug 6: Canada’s benchmark spot natural gas price jumped to its highest daily average in more than 10 months on Friday as power demand stayed strong in key markets following the week’s bullish inventory data.
Spot gas at the AECO storage hub in southeastern Alberta averaged C$8.26 a gigajoule, up 15 Canadian cents from Thursday. The last time it rose to this level was in late October 2004. Deals were done between C$8.20 and C$8.30 a GJ, according to the NGX electronic exchange.—Reuters
