In letter to Shahbaz, Nawaz tells PML-N to 'ensure Azadi March is a success'

Incarcerated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has relayed a message via a letter to all members of the PML-N "to ensure that the anti-government protest (Azadi March) is a success".
The letter, dated October 10, is addressed to his brother, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, and its contents were discussed with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday.
Nawaz had announced two days ago that he had written a letter to Shahbaz detailing the future course of action of the party, and had expressed hope that the PML-N president would brief the media on it.
Nawaz in the letter, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, reiterated his support to the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for his march on Islamabad. "This is the time to stand up," he wrote. "This is the time to set aside all convenience and fight for our rights."
"When the country's honour, its self respect is at stake, we must stand up and defend our rights," read the letter.
Nawaz requested Rehman, who has called on all parties to join him in the march, to release a "comprehensive programme" regarding the march.
The former premier said that he "gave a lot of thought" to Rehman's proposals. Rehman had met Nawaz and informed him of the discussions held in a meeting of the JUI-F central executive committee.

In a press conference following the meeting, PML-N senior leader Ahsan Iqbal said that a party delegation had called on Rehman and put forth the PML-N's recommendations for the march.
"Nawaz Sharif has said that maulana sahib's call for a protest post-elections was the right decision," said Iqbal, adding, "We support his 'Azadi March'."
Iqbal called on all opposition parties to participate in the march.
Rehman, while addressing the press conference, said that he is grateful to the PML-N for extending its support to his call for a march.
"PML-N, PPP, Awami National Party, Qaumi Watan Party and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal are all with us," he declared.
He said that an 'Azadi March committee' oversees all march-related matters on a daily basis and that a session of the party's central executive committee will be held on October 24 after which the final agenda for the march will be announced.
"There is still time. The government should resign and go home," said Rehman. "If they don't voluntarily do so, we will be forced to send them home."

Being incarcerated since quite some time noe, what other options does the former corrupt Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has got but to ask his younger bald brother to takeover his party's leadership during his absence from the free world and also strive hard to make the so-called "independence march" of JUI (F) a success?

The self respect and honour of the country were put on stake the day Panama scandal surfaced, which revealed the country's serving prime minister's children had multiple offshore companies. The prime minister had a straight forward decision. He should have asked his children to provide the source of funds for those companies and sever all ties with them until they had done so. This would have shown his non-complicity and given him the higher moral ground. Alternatively he should have resigned from his post immediately and then defend the case. Instead he decided to stay in power and used every ounce of his power to influence the investigation. Even after 3 and a half years, we still have no idea of where the funds for those offshore companies came from and Nawaz Sharif has been instructing his sons and daughters from the confines of jail. This speaks more than anything about his character.

This is a personal battle for protecting personal and vested interests at the expense of the masses and the security of the nation. No one should participate in this protest or any other for another four years and then at the general election make their point by voting for a party of their choice and this a democratic means of dealing with dissatisfaction and not creating anarchy and destroying public property!

One can hope that the letter by NS, is not written in English. Whatever the case may, it’s purpose, being made public, is political point scoring, if nothing else. It hardly makes any difference, because after the debacle of abortive effort of deserting chairman senate, it has become quite apparent that all such meetings & joint public statements by the combined opposition when put to a litmus test, come out to a nil.
For sure, this protest like its predecessor million march in the recent past, having bulk of its participant as madrassas children, will become a non event, unless the govt. doesn’t play its cards very carefully, not getting provoked to over react. So far Maulana, being a very shrewd time tested opportunist religio-politician, has achieved to remain as a focal point in the media, & created a bubble of uncertainties aiming at leaving his opponent guessing of his next move.
One can earnestly hope that the govt. understanding his obvious bluff, deal with it appropriately.

Bunch of losers are planning to get together to sabotage a leader who was born after a long long time to stand for people of Pakistan. IK is the only hope for Pakistan who can change the status quo, masses do not fully understand him yet because it gets worse before it gets better.
