KARACHI: Shahwilayat School scored successive wins in basketball event to make a fantastic start at the 3rd Student Olympic Games which commenced here at Hampton School, Clifton on Friday. The games are being organised from Oct 4-19 by Pakistan Students Olympic Association (PSOA).

Many sporting events including athletics, basketball, throwball, futsal, table tennis, cricket, dodgeball, yoga and gymnastics will be contested in the Games.

Jaffer Ali Shah senior Vice President Pakistan Student Olympic Association was the chief guest and opened the events in a colourful ceremony.

Basketball: City school DK beat MSB 7-0; Shahwilayat School beat Hampton school by 11-9; British Overseas School beat MSB 21-02; Hampton School beat City School DK Campus by 6-0; Shahwilayat School beat British Overseas School by 7-4.

Javed Khan was the head umpire while Amir Hamza was the match referees on this occasion. Maqbool Arian, President Pakistan Student Olympic Association (PSOA), Iven Fadric, Secretary PSOA, Shahnawaz Alam President Karachi Student Olympic Association (KSOA), Nadeem Aslam secretary KSOA, Imdad Hussain director yoga and gymnastics and Shakeel Ahmed, coordinator sports city school DK campus were also present on the occasion.
