LAHORE: An evening to honour the national heroes was organised by the Lahore Arts Council (LAC) and Sarfaroshan-i-Pakistan Welfare Trust at the Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, on Wednesday.

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Mian Aslam Iqbal was the chief guest. The armed forces of the country are an asset, said the minister.

“I salute the mothers who sacrificed their sons for the motherland,” he said.

Prominent singers also participated in the programme and paid rich tributes to heroes of the country by singing songs.

Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Ather Ali Khan said Alhamra had arranged this evening to pay special tribute to the national heroes. He appreciated the civil society participation in the event.
