TIMERGARA: A youth was found dead in a hilly area in the jurisdiction of Talash police station here the other day, residents and police said.

They said Asfandyar, 24, a resident of Maidan and currently living in Macho Talash, went missing from his house some eight days ago. They said someone informed police about the presence of a body in the hills.

Saeed Gul, father of the deceased, told police that his son was suffering from epilepsy. He said the youth went out of his house over a week ago and did not return. According to the postmortem report, there were no signs of torture on his body. It said the youth died the day he had left his house.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Kas Koto village of Samarbagh.

The deceased’s uncle told police that his nephew was mentally retarded. He said he committed suicide over unknown reasons. The police registered a case and have started further investigations.

BUILDING MATERIAL: Lower Dir administration on Wednesday removed building material from the roadside in Samarbagh using heavy machinery.

The tehsil municipal officer took notice of a complaint lodged by a citizen regarding dumping of construction material near Bokrai Bridge, hindering smooth flow of traffic.

The TMA staff removed the construction material and started tracing the person who had dumped the material on the roadside.

Also, inspector of healthcare commission Mohammad Raees Jan sealed two dental clinics in Samarbagh for operating without legal permission and licence.

Meanwhile, Dir traders’ alliance on Wednesday demanded of the director general of trade organisations, Islamabad, to extend the date for renewal of membership for annual election of the Dir Chamber of Commerce and Industries and make the process of membership renewal transparent.

The demand was made during a meeting of Dir Traders Alliance held at a local hotel with Anjuman-i-Tajaran Timergara president Anwaruddin in the chair.

Anwaruddin, Laiq Zada and others rejected the proposed schedule for election of Dir chamber and complained that the membership process was kept secret from them in order to pave the way for some blue-eyed persons to be elected.
