KARACHI: Players of competing teams are seen with chief guest DC South Syed Salahuddin Ahmed at the Kashmir Solidarity Basketball festival here at Arambagh court on Monday.

KARACHI: Benazir Bhutto Shaheed IX won the girls trophy while Malik Shahid Hamid Shaheed IX won the boys trophy of Kashmir Solidarity Basketball festival held to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren. The event was organized by KBBA in collaboration with PSWA at Abdul Nasir Basketball courts at Arambagh on Saturday night.

Girls match was played between Benazir Bhutto Shaheed IX and Pilot Officer Maryam Mukhtar Shaheed IX while boys match was played between Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto IX and Malik Shahid Hamid IX which the later won in style.

DC South Syed Salahuddin Ahmed was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony and gave away trophies and other awards on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the sacrifices being rendered by Kashmiris for right to self-determination and said that their sacrifices will not go in vain. He also highlighted the importance of sports in society and said the city of Karachi is witnessing an increased number of sports as per vision of CM Syed Murad Ali Shah.

KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Abdul Nasir, Social activist Muhammad Saleem Khamisani and Muhammad Arshad were also present on the occasion.
