LAHORE: Workers on Saturday demanded the prime minister and chief ministers should immediately take steps for controlling hike in prices of essential commodities in order to save the poor segment and the working class from economic and social sufferings.

“In accordance with the principles of ILO Convention Nos 81, 155 ratified by the Pakistan, the government is bound to ensure provision of all rights to the workers. So the prime minister and chief ministers must take action to control the sky rocketing prices with immediate effect,” demanded the Pakistan Workers Confederation secretary and trade union leader Khurshid Ahmad at a meeting.
