BUNER: A local cricket player was killed and another injured when they fell into a ravine while scuffling over transport fare on a hilly track in Chaghorzai area of Buner district on Monday evening.

Police quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the players of a local cricket team were going back on foot from Gulbandi after playing a match there.

They said the two players exchanged arguments over transport fare and started scuffling on a hilly track.

During the scuffle, the two players, Mirsheed and Noor Mohammad, fell into a deep ravine.

As a result, Mirsheed died on the spot and Noor was seriously injured.

The dead and the injured were shifted to the DHQ hospital in Daggar, where doctors referred the injured man to a major hospital in Peshawar in precarious condition.

The Gulbandi police registered the case and started further investigations.
