QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that his government will expand the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) network to all divisions and districts of the province and take all steps for strengthening the capacity of the department that is playing an important role against acts of terrorism.

Presiding over a meeting during his visit to the CTD headquarters on Monday, he said that it was the government and security forces that fought jointly against terrorists and their facilitators and restored peace in the province.

Provincial home minister Mir Ziaullah Langove, IG Police Mohsin Hassan Butt, DIG CTD Aitzaz Goraya and other security officials were present in the meeting.

Mr Goraya while briefing the meeting about the security situation said that the plan to connect CTD’s network with other divisions was being finalised and they had been working to digitalise the system, which would help foil terrorists’ activities and their networks.

“Efforts are being utilised to establish a digital forensic lab in Quetta, geo-fencing and digitalisation of all available data,” he said.

The chief minister said that the provincial government had been utilising all resources for sustainable peace in the province.
