ECP pensioners

Published August 18, 2019

I WANT to draw the attention of the federal government and high-ups of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan towards pensioners who opted for the SECP after the dissolution of the Corporate Law Authority and retired thereafter.

With the cost of living rising sharply, most SECP pensioners find it difficult to make ends meet on their meagre pension which is half of the pension being received by the federal government employees.

These retired people are under stress owing to inflation and health problems. Many of them are also in debt because they cannot bear the cost of living. They can hardly afford day-to-day expenses and other recurring monthly expenses.

The SECP can bring the pensioners respite by raising their pension to that being paid to federal government pensioners. It should not be difficult for the SECP to raise the money as it has ample funds.

Surely the people who devoted the best time of their lives to the service of the SECP and the nation deserve sympathetic consideration in their old age.
