ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) to inquire about the health of patients on Eidul Azha.
A majority of patients prefer to spend Eids along with their loved ones and some of them even disappear from their beds on such occasions.
Moreover, even doctors try to skip their duties to celebrate Eids along with their families.
The prime minister on Monday reached Pims and inquired about the health of patients admitted to different wards and asked them about the quality of treatment.
Pims Joint Executive Director Dr Ijaz Qadeer told Dawn that the premier visited the emergency, gastroenterology department and observed dialysis of patients.
Executive Director Dr Ansar Maxood briefed him about the hospital and the number of patients, he said.
“He (premier) spent over half an hour in the hospital and talked to the patients and listened to their problems,” he said.
Another doctor said the prime minister was informed about the facilities and challenges to handle the huge number of patients coming from different cities.
“People lauded the prime minister’s gesture and chanted slogans in his favour,” he said.
