QUETTA: A member of the National Assembly from Gwadar-Lasbela has expressed his dismay over elected representatives from the area not being taken into confidence for the approval of Gwadar Master Plan.

Talking to newsmen on Saturday, MNA Mohammad Aslam Bhootani said there were reports that the planning commission would soon approve the plan. The plan was prepared by a Chinese firm and sent to the planning commission.

Mr Bhootani said the federal government was bypassing the elected representatives of Gwadar on development projects. “As an elected representative of the area, I welcome local and foreign investment. But, it should be with the consultation of the elected MNA and MPAs and Islamabad must take them into confidence before approval,” he said.
