QUETTA: Two children died after a flash flood hit the Sehab Miwand area of Loralai district on Friday evening. However, six people trapped in floodwater were rescued by the Levies personnel.

Official sources said that a vehicle with eight persons aboard was on its way to Muzaffargarh from Quetta when it got trapped in flooding caused by monsoon rains in the hilly areas of Loralai.

The vehicle was swept away. Levies Force personnel rushed to the site along with a rescue team and after hectic efforts succeeded in saving the lives of six people.

“Two children who were travelling in the vehicle were swallowed by raging water,” said Jumma Dad Khan Mandokhail, the assistant commissioner of Loralai. Rescue workers were searching for their bodies, he added.
