ISLAMABAD: A man was poisoned to death allegedly by his wife, police said on Saturday.

Investigation officer Inspector Abdul Rehman said an autopsy on the body of Abdul Moid, a resident of Jhangi Syedan, was conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Police are waiting for the autopsy and chemical examiner’s reports for detection of poison, he added.

The deceased’s wife told the police that he committed suicide by consuming poison. However, the victim’s father Mohammad Anwar lodged a case against his daughter-in-law on suspicion of murder.

Meanwhile, thieves lifted a Mehran car from outside the house of Mohammad Aslam at Ghori Town.
