FAISALABAD: The Saddar police have registered a case against PML-N MPA Ajmal Asif and his five gunmen on the complaint of PTI ticket holder Dr Nisar Jutt, an ex-MNA, about attempt on his life.

A cross-version was also registered against Dr Nisar and his guards on the same charges on the complaint of Mohammad Shahzad of Chak 69-JB.

The two politicians have alleged attempt on their lives and aerial firing. Submitting an application, Nisar said he was on way home when Ajmal Asif and his gunmen tried to kill him by hitting his vehicle from the rear side. He said the driver did not stop the vehicle and sped away and he only stopped by seeing a police team on Jhang Road.

Nisar said his employee Nawazish opened fire in the air while responding to the firing of the political rivals.

Shahzad alleged in his application that the guards of Nisar had stopped their vehicle near the education board office when they were on way to Siddhar Bypass. He said Sharif, who is Nisar’s secretary, used foul language and opened fire at the MPA. The car occupants, however, remained safe as the driver managed to take the car out of harm’s way. He said the firing created panic in the public.
