QUETTA: A suspected terrorist, who along with two others attacked two men, was gunned down during an exchange of fire with police on Saturday.

According to the police, the three men opened fire on a traffic constable in the Killi Barro area, leaving Constable Khizdar Bakhsh and one pedestrian injured.

“During the exchange of fire with a police patrolling team one attacker was killed while two others managed to escape,” DIG police Abdul Razzaq Cheema said.

The body was taken to the Civil Hospital for a medico-legal procedure while both the injured were shifted to the hospital’s trauma centre.

“The terrorist was involved in four firing incidents on policemen in Quetta. The timely action taken by the police did not allow him to escape today,” Mr Cheema said, adding that hunt for the other attackers was under way.
