PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has approved e-transfer policy for the education department under which all postings and transfers would be made on merit.

An official communiqué of elementary and secondary education issued here on Friday quoted adviser to chief minister on education Ziaullah Bangash said work on e-transfer application was under process and it would be launched within a week across the province.

He said the education department would call applications for transfers once a year and all the intending applicants would submit their applications online after getting signatures of the reporting office.

He said under the e-policy transfers would be made at the start of academic year on vacant posts. He made it clear that vacancies of district cadre would be non-transferable as it would affect the government’s merit policy.

The CM’s adviser said spouse policy would be conditional to less privileged areas to help them put on path of progress, adding transfers under the spouse policy would only be made after adjustment of the domicile holding candidates.

All the applicants would submit their applications for transfer through proper channel and those employees to be found influencing the department would be taken to task under the rules.

Mr Bangash said the indicators for posting and transfer would be teachers’ attendance, students’ attendance, ratio of teachers to students, duration of employment in hard area, monthly tests and annual result of students.

For posting and transfer of principal and headmaster, the indicators to be considered would be annual result and administrative responsibilities and use of budget, he said, adding postings and transfers on medical grounds would be done in case of perpetual disease.
