CHARSADDA: An elderly man was killed and his son injured when roof of a room of their house collapsed in Mian Kallay area here on Friday.

Police said that roof of the mud house of Zahir Shah collapsed in Mian Kallay area of Shabqadar tehsil, burying Zahir, and his son, Hamid, under the rubble.

The local residents rushed to the site of the incident and retrieved the body and the injured from the wreckage of the collapsed house.

The body and the injured were shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital, Shabqadar, wherefrom the injured was referred to a hospital in Peshawar in precarious condition.

The body of Zahir was handed over to relatives for burial.
