KARACHI, July 16: As many as 12 cellphones were snatched at gunpoint and 29 were stolen in various areas of the city on Saturday. The police arrested three men for their alleged involvement in snatching and theft of cellphones and recovered 18 mobile phones from their possession.

On information from the arrested accused, the police picked up a shopkeeper of Serena Market for purchasing the stolen cellphones.

DIG Investigation-I Manzoor Mughal told Dawn that the Anti-Robbery and Dacoity Cell had arrested Syed Mehmood, Mehmood Khan and Imran Shah after the recovery of 18 stolen cellphones, three TT pistols and a stolen motorcycle from them.
