BAHAWALPUR: The Dring Stadium and its attached sports facilities would be upgraded for the sportsmen, says Deputy Commissioner Shozeb Saeed.

During a visit to the stadium here on Tuesday, he said the officials of the district administration had decided to upgrade the stadium and the sports facilities such as AustroTurf, gymnasium, squash courts, wrestling arena, cricket ground and stadium pavilion. For this purpose, the DC said instructions had been given to prepare a new PC-I.

He said for boxers and its fans, a boxing ring would be added to Dring Stadium. The DC said that in order to hold sports events and fixtures and for the judicious use of sports funds, a meeting of sports organisations, sportsmen and a club would soon be convened here.
