CHITRAL: The Kagh Lusht festival concluded here on Sunday after lasting for four days in the plateau situated between the rivers of Mulkhow and Biyar, the two main tributaries of Chitral River.

The event had attracted a large number of people from all parts of the district on its final day due to public holiday, and the spectators enjoyed traditional sports.

The youngsters evinced special interest in the sports on the final day of the festival which included target shooting, falconry, tug-of-war and classic football (bampughal).

Booni headquarters team clinched the polo final, target shooting competition title went to Hussain Zareen Charwelo of Raeen village, while Torkhow team won the football final, volleyball cup went to Booni town and cricket to Upper Dir team.

Chitral deputy commissioner Khurshid Alam Mehsud was the chief guest on the occasion, who gave away prizes to the players.

He said that the event was centuries old as the vast plateau of Kagh Lusht presented a highly charming view on the advent of spring.

He eulogised the efforts of the festival management committee headed by Shahzada Sikandarul Mulk.
