ROME: Lazio revived their chances of qualifying for the Champions League with a 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Udinese in Serie A on Wednesday.

In seventh place, Lazio moved within three-points of fourth-place AC Milan and the final Champions League berth.

Udinese remained 16th, three points above the drop zone.

Despite a modest budget, Udinese have remained in Serie A continuously since the 1995-96 season behind only Inter Milan, Roma, AC Milan, and Lazio in terms of consecutive seasons in the top division.

Felipe Caicedo scored off the post midway through the first half and Udinese midfielder Sandro added an own goal by inadvertently redirecting in a corner.

Also, Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha saved a second-half penalty by Rodrigo de Paul.

The match was rescheduled from February due to a rugby game at the Stadio Olimpico.
